He is survived by two daughters, Audrey Way of Pleasureville and Barbara Coons (Lou) of LaGrange; one brother, Robert Combs (Trish) of Louisville; one sister, Jane Wilson (Chester) of Cadiz; three grandchildren, Chad McGowan (Kristie), Jennifer Whitaker and Clint Marlette; five great-grandchildren, Paige Whitaker, Hannah Whitaker, Lexi Barnes, Kayleigh McGowan and Chandler McGowan, and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by a his wife, Margaret Downey Combs, three brothers, Fred, Farris and John Combs, and two sisters Louise Brewer and Irene Casto.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Friday, February 26, 2010 at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville. The Rev. Jerry Anderson, pastor of Pleasureville Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was in Pleasureville Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Bobby Brown, Gary Brown, Lou Coons, Roberts Combs, Jim Kinnaird and Chad McGowan.
