Trigg County Sheriff Randy Clark’s report said that the perpetrator or perpetrators face charges of Criminal Mischief in the First Degree when apprehended. Clark’s report said that the suspect or suspects damaged vinyl siding at the rear of the building, and punched holes in the wall, some reaching the inside of the building.
At the scene, Clark collected a red metal pipe, a broom with a yellow metal handle and a twisted iron pipe next to some trees behind the building. Clark added that the reporter of the vandalism, Char Frankhauser, found a bottle of mouthwash on the front steps of the building on September 29.
Frankhauser said, “It looked like they weren’t burglars. They did not gain entry to the building and no windows were broken or door locks jimmied. It looks more like a prank to me.” She added that the nature of the damage gave no indication if the vandals were attempting to steal copper wire or pipes.
