I’m not going to get into the individual stats (Don is the whiz at that) but I’ll give you my take on the game: it was a fantastic effort for eight innings. Donald Bush came in to relieve Hunter Smilee in the third inning and did an outstanding job from the mound. Trigg had it 4-1 in the sixth inning when the Colonels rallied to tie the game 4-4. A few critical errors let it get away from the Cats in the 9th inning but that does not take anything away from the effort of Bush and company, in my biased and humble estimation. A few quick notes: the colonels brought out their Western Kentucky signed star pitcher in the late innings. Young Colonel south paw pitcher Dylan Carroll did a great job. The Colonels opted not to pitch to Will Stagner in the 7th inning with Bush on base and gave him a walk (a sign of respect for my boy!). The Colonels had only 2 earned runs out of 12. The Trigg Coach watched from outside the park because of getting tossed the night before. Read on.
