King’s Funeral Home was in charge of all the cremation arrangements for Wilburn Simmons, 85, of Cadiz, who died on Monday, March 12, 2007, at 1 p.m., at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn., of natural causes.

Mr. Simmons was born on May 14, 1921, in Robertson County, Tenn. He was the son of the late Duke and Lela Covington Simmons.

Mr. Simmons was a retired truck driver for American Truck Lines; and was of the Methodist Faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bryce Simmons; and a sister, Dorothy Benningfield.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Doye M. Simmons of Cadiz; two sisters, Margaret Clark of Springfield, Tenn., and Peggy Rainwater of Greenbrier, Tenn.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
