Visiting Trigg County led at the end of each quarter. The Wildcats entered halftime out in front 35-34. Trigg County stretched its lead out to a double-digit advantage in the second half. The Wildcats outscored Dawson Springs 26-19 in the third period.
Four different Trigg County players reached double figures in the scoring column. High-scoring senior guard Jonathan King paced Trigg County with a game-high 30 points. Shelton Burruss pushed in 19 points, Bradley Davis dumped in 12 and Zeke Wright added 10.
“It is always good to get wins on the road,” said Trigg County Coach Mike Wright. “Nothing comes easy for our team. Dawson Springs has three players that stand 6-4 so they were tough for us. The keys to the game were – we moved Jonathan King to the inside of our zone offense in the second half; also Bradley Davis guarded Ethan Scott and basically shut him down the second half of the game.”
Dawson Springs was never able to get closer than three baskets of Trigg County in the second half. The Wildcats were able to keep some buckets in between themselves and the Panthers.
