On the day after Thanksgiving, Trigg County traveled to Lexington and defeated Western Hills out of Frankfort 66-58. The Wildcats were led again by King (22 points) and Wright (16 points). Dustin White contributed nine points and led the team is assists. White’s defensive play was the key to the victory as he guarded 6-8 Matt Satterknight from Western HIlls.
“Overall I was pleased with our two scrimmages,” said Trigg County Coach Mike Wright. “Our effort on the defensive end has improved and our unselfishness has also improved. Beating Madisonville will earn us some respect around the region but we have to prove ourselves every time we step on the court. Nobody even picked us to be in the top 10 teams in the region this year. We hope to prove all the experts wrong.”
Trigg County opened the 2008-09 season this past Tuesday night at home against Fulton City.
