Calloway County compiled a 7-5 record in 2007. The Lakers look to be the District 1 favorite. During the 2007 regular-season, Calloway County led Lone Oak most of the way before falling in overtime. In the playoffs, Lone Oak rolled over the Lakers.
Calloway County could be the most talented high school football team in the area. Quarterback Casey Brockman and running back Tyrell Willis are the top two returnees for the Lakers. Brockman quietly put together an exceptional 2007 season, completing almost 60 percent of his passes for more than 2,300 yards and 30 touchdowns. Opposing defenses intercepted Brockman 12 times.
Willis (6-3, 230) is considered the top player in Class 4A, District 1.
