Funeral services for William Dabney Rascoe, 72, of Cerulean, were conducted on Saturday, June 16, 2007, at 10 a.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home.

Rev. Don Bunch, and Rev. Mike Reeves officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Cerulean Cemetery, in Cerulean.

Mr. Rascoe died on Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at 11:10 a.m. at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville, of natural causes.

Mr. Rascoe was born on Tuesday, April 9, 1935, in Cerulean. He was the son of the late Carney Moore and Sara Frances (Larkins) Rascoe.

Mr. Rascoe was a retired civil service employee and retired Trigg Co. Deputy jailer. He was a member and one of the founders of the Cerulean Volunteer Fire Department. He also served as a coach in Trigg Co. for 25 years in both baseball and softball. He was a member of the Cerulean United Methodist Church where he was the Sunday School Superintendent for 54 years.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years Betty (Brashears) Rascoe of Cerulean, three sons and daughters in law, Bill and Janie Rascoe, of Hopkinsville, Bob Rascoe, of Cerulean, Tim and Valarie Rascoe, of Sturgis, and four grandchildren, Logan Rascoe, Jordynn Rascoe, Brittany Cowan and Patrick Glass.

Serving as pallbearers were Brian Smiley, Jim Stagner, Joe Chewning, Steve Brashears, Mike Brashears and Brad Brashears.

Honorary pallbearers were Homer Mason, Earl Harris, Glenn Cornelius, Leon Roberts, Carmen Johnson, James Robert Lawrence, Buddy Broadbent, Donnie Pogue, Hamp Miracle, Carl Johnson, Johnny Joyce, Robert Moutardier and the Cerulean Volunteer Fire Department.

Music was provided by Angela Smiley, Pianist.
