Last Tuesday’s storms propelled a green metal roof from a Lake Barkley home into tree branches overhead and around the neighborhood, according to neighbor Ralph Chandler.

“I’m from Oklahoma, and have seen strong winds,” said Chandler. “The wind was blowing across the lake against our windows. I was afraid it would blow through them so we went to the front of the house to wait it out. I didn’t know it did so much damage until I went out to walk the dogs.”

Chandler said that his neighbors were not at home during the storm but said that large sections of the roof became snared in trees overhead after a strong gust. “I remember the roar of this wind. I’ve been in tornadoes, but don’t remember that roar.”
