Since its inception three years ago, the Woman’s Show has been held in order to offer $500 scholarships to relatives of Homemakers members, said Charlotte Brown, president of TCEH. TCEH had offered a scholarship for many years, and Brown said the Woman’s Show was started to replenish the program’s depleted funds. The proceeds raised at this year’s festival will go to next year’s scholarships.
Brown said she always receives a great deal of positive feedback about the event from both business owners and attendees, some of whom come from outside Trigg County. In some years, Brown said she has noticed from the license plates there that some attendees had come from as far as Illinois and Indiana, as well as Tennessee.
