Wreck sends one to hospital

A single-car accident on Ky 276 Saturday, Dec. 10 sent a Florida man to Vanderbilt Hospital.

Charles Thomas King, 29, of Jacksonville, was traveling eastbound on the highway at about 6:00 p.m. when, according to a State Police report, he ran off the right side of the road and then overcorrected.

King then traveled across both lanes of the road, down an embankment and struck a tree.

According to State Police, King’s 2002 Pontiac became airborne and became overturned. King, who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, was ejected through the rear window.

King was first taken to by EMS services to Trigg County Hospital, but was subsequently flown to Vanderbilt Hospital.

An investigation into the accident is continuing by Trooper Richard Wright. In addition to State Police and Trigg County EMS, the Trigg County Sheriff’s Office, Trigg County Rescue, Cerulean Volunteer Fire Department and Montgomery Volunteer Fire Department.
