Mr. Oakley died of natural causes at 11:32 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.
He was born January 29, 1949 in Murray to the late Norris Hayden Oakley and Mary Gardner.
Mr. Oakley was an agriculture manager, member of the Cadiz Baptist Church, NRA member and was an avid sportsman.
He is survived by his wife Penny Bridges Oakley of Cadiz; his mother, Mary Gardner and father, Herb Brandt both of Cadiz; one sister, Brenda Southwick (and husband George) of Cadiz; one sister-in-law, Patti Brame (and husband Bob) of Cadiz; one son, Casey Oakley of Hopkinsville; and two granddaughters, Chloe Ann and Olivia Ann Oakley.
Pallbearers were Gant Gardner, David Southwick, Ben Cundiff, Marty Bozarth, Jim Mize and Bo Reynolds. Honorary pallbearers were Barry Littlejohn, Jimmy Towler, George Southwick, Bob Brame, Jimmy Futrell, Ken Oakley and Mack Greenwood.
Music was provided by Russ Stallons, vocalist and instrumentalist.
