Linda Kay Barkatt, 61, of Cadiz, died following a long illness at 8:45 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2011 at her home in Cadiz. No services were held. The family chose cremation. King’s Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Barkatt was born June 15, 1950 in Denver, Colo., to the late Carl and Carole Coale Root.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Scott Barkatt of Cadiz; one brother, Kenneth W. Root of Washington; one sister, Kathy Curington of Washington; one son, Robert Cade Gore of Oceanside, Calif.; one daughter, Kelly Loy of Clarksville, Tenn.; and four grandchildren.
