Graveside services for Betty O. Smith, 72, of Kuttawa, will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Macedonia Cemetery in Eddyville. The Rev. Jeremy Short will officiate. Dunn’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Smith died at 5:42 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.

Betty was a member of Suwanee Furnace Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her maternal parents, A. F. and Ethel Thomas; parents, John C. and Lucy L. Thomas Cardin; one sister, Mary Lou Cardin; one brother, John C. Cardin; and one son, Eddie A. Smith.

Survivors include one sister, Mary Oakley of Cadiz; one son, Ricky D. Smith of Calvert City; two grandsons, Joe Don Smith and Eddie A. Smith, II; three granddaughters, Amanda Oliver, Ashley Melander and Jessica Long; and nine great-grandchildren.
