Funeral services for Ernest “Buck” Wadlington, 82, of Cadiz, were held Monday, July 18, 2011 at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz. The Rev. Irvin Darnall officiated. Burial followed in the Wadlington Cemetery in Trigg County. Goodwin Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Wadlington died of natural causes at 11:09 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2011 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.

Ernest “Buck” was a retired farmer and a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He was a United States veteran having served in the Korean War.

He was born November 16, 1928 in Trigg County to the late Ben J. and Mary Ledford Wadlington.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Hunter Wadlington; four brothers, Thomas, Bobby, Earl and Paul Wadlington; and one sister, Sally Choate.

Survivors include one brother, Richard Wadlington of Cadiz; one sister, Lucille LaBonte of West Palm Beach, Fla.; three daughters, Debbie Lamb (and husband Jeff) of Hopkinsville, Linda DeLoach (and husband Danny) of Cadiz and Peggy O’Bryant also of Cadiz; five grandchildren, Jonathan and Julie Wadlington, Brian Wadlington, Kayla Lamb and Evan DeLoach; and five great-granddchildren, Cole, Walker, McKinley, Caleb and Megan Wadlington.

Pallbearers were Jonathan Wadlington, Brian Wadlington, Evan DeLoach, Danny DeLoach, Jeff Lamb, John Oliver, Don Hunter and Tommy Hanberry.
