Funeral services for Geneva “Nemie” Hopson, 78, were conducted on Thursday, May 20, 2004, at 2 p.m., at Goodwin Funeral Home.

Rev. Lester Watson officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Cerulean Cemetery, in Cerulean, KY.

Mrs. Hopson died on Tuesday, May 18, 2004, at 8:05 a.m., at Shady Lawn Nursing Center, in Trigg County, of natural causes.

Mrs. Hopson was born on June 15, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Jim B. and Ruth Alida Cunningham Calhoun Ellis.

Mrs. Hopson was a homemaker, a member of Ophelia Chapter of Eastern Star, and a member of East Cadiz Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth B. Hopson; two sisters, Irene Bradford and Pat Cameron; four brothers, Amos Bridges, David Bridges, Gilbert Bridges, and Ernest Calhoun;

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, LeRoy and Edith Hopson of Toccoa, GA; a daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and David Toms, of Hopkinsville; one brother, Lacy Calhoun, of Sherman, TX; three sisters, Sylvia Pearl Myrtle, of Temple, AZ; Hattie Marie Hammertree, of Cadiz; and Rachel Dell Humphries, of Hopkinsville; two grandchildren, Michael Wayne Hopson, and Michelle Denise Carlton; eight great-grandchildren, Scott Michael Carlton, Chelsea Lynn Carlton, Brandon Thomas Willey. Jonathan Thomas Hopson, Jared Blake Hopson, Kayce Lee Toms, Cody Daniel Toms, and Ashley Lane Toms; four step-grandchildren, Anthony Pruitt, Dean Pruitt, Scott Pruitt, and Shaun Pruitt; 12 step-grandchildren; and three step-great-great-grandchildren.

Music was provided by Clarence King, Pianist and Vocalist.

Serving as pallbearers were Thomas Cameron, Scott Carlton, Sr., Scott Carlton, Jr., Sonny Davis, Mike Hopson, and Dale Toms.
