Plans are beginning to come together for the continuation of the streetscape enhancement through downtown Cadiz. Grants were recently approved giving the city the money to finish phase two of the project. Phase two will pick up where phase one left off and continue to the stoplight at the park.

The plan is to continue what was done in phase one of the reconstruction. This includes replacing the sidewalks, burying the utilities and adding new streetlights.

Currently the plans are under review in Frankfort. Cindy Sholar, Renaissance director is optimistic that they will be approved soon. The reconstruction project will take approximately 45-60 days to complete. Officials are hoping to start the week after the Ham Festival, however that is subject to change.

Until the plans get approved in Frankfort no bids can be accepted for the project. Several companies have expressed interest in putting in a bid. The money that has been allowed for the completion of the Renaissance is $240,000.
