Soccer team shuts out Russellville 2-0

Trigg County wrapped up their regular season with a 2-0 win at Russellville Oct. 12.

The win moved Trigg’s record to 5-6-2 on the season, heading into the postseason. The win guarantees Trigg County to have the most wins and fewest losses in a season since 2001.

The Wildcats got goals from Bradley Darnall, his fourth of the year, and from Jacob Wadlington, his second of the season.

Nick Woodruff assisted on both goals.

Brent Wietting made 14 saves to secure his second shutout of the season.

It was the second 2-0 shutout of Russellville by the Wildcats this season.

The three shutouts is the most by the Wildcats in a season in three years.

The Wildcats were scheduled to play Caldwell County in the district tournament Monday in Princeton.
