The Cadiz Restaurant is under new ownership. Long-time employee and manager at the restaurant, Bonnie Noel and her son, Todd Butts have purchased the restaurant. The sale actually went through on October 20 and the restaurant will continue to be open.

"I've been here for 23 years. I just felt that I wanted to buy it before a stranger did so it would stay the same. It's going to run the way it always has. Its still the same people," said Bonnie.

Former owner, Martha Mitchell, who was killed in an automobile accident, owned the restaurant for ten years. Martha started working at the restaurant just one month before Bonnie. Bonnie claims that Martha was a dear friend, and is missed everyday by everyone who knew her. "It (the restaurant) was such a big part of my life, I couldn't see it not being there anymore," said Bonnie.

Bonnie will receive help at the restaurant from her daughter-in-law, Jane Butts. They invite all family, friends, neighbors and visitors to stop by the restaurant. Bonnie said, "We might add to the menu, right now it will all stay the same." Customers can expect the same menu, the same atmosphere and the same staff that have been at The Cadiz Restaurant for years.

The specialties in the restaurant are the buffet and the daily specials. There are steak specials on the weekends, as well as daily specials that are offered Monday through Friday. For dessert, homemade pie with homemade rolled out crust is sure to top off a good meal. Jane said that right now the pumpkin pie is especially good.

The family is looking forward to owning the restaurant. Jane said, "It'll be fun. Todd is thrilled. He's really into this. He's excited." Bonnie said that "it's exciting, kind of scary."

The Cadiz Restaurant employs about thirty people. They do not have a high employee turn over. "Everyone who works there has been there so long. It's like a big family," said Bonnie.

The Cadiz Restaurant is opened weekdays from 5 a.m. until 8 p.m., on Saturdays from 4 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. and Sundays from 6 a.m. until 2 p.m. The new owners hope to carry on the standards of service established by Martha during her ownership. They encourage everyone to come down to the Cadiz Restaurant.
