Trigg County’s seventh graders ran their record to 9-0 on the season with a 41-34 win over University Heights Nov. 23 at Midcat Gym.

Zack White scored 13 points, and Zeke Wright added 11 as the Midcats hit 11-of-18 from the free throw line in the game.

Trigg jumped out to an 11-5 lead after one quarter and upped it to 22-10 at halftime.

UHA cut the lead to 31-25 after three quarters, but Trigg County held on for the win.

Jalik Alexander added nine points for the Midcats, while Javin Grubbs and Mitch Rogers each scored three points.

Matt McGowan led UHA with 11 points.

The Midcats used a 14-0 second quarter run to bury Lyon County 53-33 Nov. 22 at Midcat Gym.

Zeke Wright and Zack White combined to score 18 points in the first quarter as the Midcats jumped out to a 22-8 lead.

Mitch Rogers added five more points in the second quarter as Trigg County built a 36-8 lead at intermission.

Wright finished with 14 points, and White had eight. Jalik Alexander scored 10 for the Midcats, and Jamus McAtee added six.

Stevie Vinson led Lyon County with 17 points.

A slow second quarter spelled doom for the eighth graders in their 61-35 loss to Lyon County Nov. 22 at Midcat Gym.

Lyon led 17-9 after one quarter, but used a 21-5 second quarter run to take a 38-14 halftime lead.

Trigg cut the lead to 42-26 after three quarters before Lyon County put the game away.

Ryan Acree led Trigg County with 11 points, while Dustin White added seven.

Ramsey Walker led Lyon County with 25 points.

University Heights jumped out to a 17-4 lead after the first quarter and didn’t look back in their 66-46 win over the eighth graders Nov. 23 at Midcat Gym.

Ryan Acree scored all 13 of his points in the fourth quarter, while nine of Zeke Wright’s 11 points came after halftime.

Jalik Alexander and Dustin White each chipped in with eight points.

Jonathon King led UHA with 28 points.
