Rev. Jack Larwa officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Bethel Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Broadbent died on Saturday, December 4, 2004, at 9:45 a.m., at Ridgewood Terrace in Madisonville of natural causes.
Mrs. Broadbent was born on January 12, 1914, in Trigg County. She was the daughter of the late Carter and Sarah Wilson Meador.
Mrs. Broadbent was a homemaker; she was previously employed at Shady Lawn Nursing Center in Cadiz; and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Lee "Pete" Broadbent in January 1995; a son, Billy Hopson Broadbent in 1937; a daughter, Lilly Lee Broadbent in 1938; five brothers, Ernest Meador, Parks Meador, Claude Meador, Wilford Meador, and Alfred Meador; and one sister, Nora Turner.
Survivors include two sons, Edward Layton Broadbent of Ocala, Fla.; and Bobby Earl Broadbent of Cadiz; two daughters, Elizabeth Locatelli of Las Vegas, Nev., and Marilyn Kik of Madisonville; two sisters, Alta Rawls of Cadiz, and Jacque Ortiz of Fayetteville, N.C.; 12 grandchildren, Debra Broadbent, Michael Broadbent, Peter Broadbent, Alma Broadbent, Tony Broadbent, Teresa Lancaster, Shane Broadbent, Leslie Brooks, Robert Phillip Brooks III, Kelly McCelland, Brett Kik and Clay Kik; and 20 great-grandchildren, Rachel Broadbent, Alex Broadbent, Heather Broadbent, Amanda Broadbent, Lauren Broadbent, Thomas Broadbent, Preston Broadbent, Brenton Broadbent, Carolyn Broadbent, Jared Lancaster, Annie Lancaster, Hannah Kik, Abby Kik, Jett Kik, Graham Kik, Caroline McCelland, Alexander McCelland, Mary Scott McCelland, Luke McCelland, and Eli Henry McCelland.
