Rev. Jack Larwa officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Merrick Cemetery in Trigg County.
Mr. Merrick died on Monday, February 21, 2005, at 8:37 p.m., at Owensboro Medical Health System of natural causes.
Mr. Merrick was born on April 13, 1936, in Trigg County. He was the son of the late Harper Glenn and Fannie Sanders Merrick.
Mr. Merrick was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator; was a veteran of the U.S. Army; was a member of the Cadiz Masonic Lodge #121; and was a member of the Cadiz United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Edward Merrick.
Survivors include a son, Michael Glenn Merrick of Dallas, Texas; a brother, Archie Merrick of Hatfield, Ind.; and nephews, Kenny Merrick, and Dawn Merrick of Richland, Ind.
Serving as pallbearers were Michael Glenn Merrick, Archie Merrick, William Ryan Merrick, James R. Merrick, Bobby Stallons, Charles Layton Litchfield, and Max McClure.
