Kentucky's Sex Offender Registry offers free public access to information about registered sex offenders living throughout the state.
Presently, there are three persons on the list from Trigg County, William W. Booth, Donald C. Bacon, and Bryan K. Martin. Booth is a lifetime registrant and moved to Trigg County from Illinois where he had a conviction of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. He registered with the state of Kentucky on June 27, 2001.
Bacon must register for ten years after being charged in 2000 with rape in the second degree. Martin is also required to register for ten years following charges of second-degree sodomy in April of 2000.
None of the three persons listed on the registry have any open investigations, nor are any of the three under any investigations for any charges, according to both the Trigg County Sheriff and Cadiz Police Chief.
Sheriff Randy Clark said he is familiar with two of the names, and that he had no knowledge of any of the three being charged with any crime since they registered in Trigg County. "My office is not investigating, nor have any of these persons been charged by my office," Clark said.
Hollis Alexander, Cadiz Police Chief, said he was familiar with two of the persons listed, but also reported that neither were under investigation nor have had any charges been filed against them since registering.
Officials at Trigg County High School said the school maintains a close watch on the registry, maintained by the Kentucky State Police. Beth Sumner, Assistant Superintendent of Personnel said Monday the school has not received any complaints against any of the three persons listed. She did say, however, that under the guidelines set down by the state that any of those registered could not be barred from the school’s campus unless it was specifically stated by the presiding judge. She said that none of the three fell into that category.

Kentucky citizens also have the option of actively monitoring offenders who move into their neighborhoods by calling the 24 hour toll-free Sex Offender Alert Line at (866) 564-5652. Callers can register to be notified whenever offenders move into their neighborhood simply by entering their telephone number and up to three zip codes. This service is also free to the public.
A performance audit of Kentucky's Sex Offender Registry released on September 30, 2004 contains detailed information on registered offenders by county. This audit also contains a brief history of Kentucky's Sex Offender Registry, an overview of how the system works, and recommended improvements.
