Funeral services for Lula Mae Allen, 74, of Cadiz, were conducted on Friday, April 15, 2005, at a11 a.m., at Goodwin Funeral Home.

Rev. Roy Marquess, Jr., officiated at the services. Burial followed in Riverside Cemetery in Hopkinsville.

Mrs. Allen died on Monday, April 11, 2005, at 6:40 p.m., at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes.

Mrs. Allen was born on December 19, 1930, in Trigg County. She was the daughter of the late Ephram and Mary Burks Vowell.

Mrs. Allen was a homemaker, and a member of Roaring Springs Christian Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Beulah Thomas; and two brothers, Thomas Vowell, and William Vowell.

Survivors include her husband, Orman Duvall Allen of Cadiz; seven sons and daughters-in-law, Gary Allen, Robert and Trudy Allen, John Allen, Kerry Allen, and Jeff Allen, all of Cadiz, Mike and Sherry Allen of Herndon, and Carl and Angie Allen of Hopkinsville; and three daughters and son-in-law, Patricia Fuller, and Donna Allen, both of Cadiz, and Penny and Matt Clayton of Snellville, Geo.; a sister, Katherine "Jimmie" Allen of Hopkinsville; a brother, Bobby Vowell of Hopkinsville; Grandchildren, Kisha and Chris Gruhn, Chad and Tonya Allen, Heather and Mike Hughes, Patti Vanderkooi, Amber Clayton, Andrea Allen, Anthony Allen, Christopher Allen, and Amya Allen; Great-grandchildren, Hunter Gruhn, Josh Gruhn, Emily Gruhn, Jordon Allen, and Ethan Hughes.

Music was provided by Rev. Roy Marquess, Jr., vocalist, and Martha Fortner, pianist.

Serving as pallbearers were Carl Allen, Gary Allen, Jeff Allen, John Allen, Kerry Allen, Mike Allen, and Robert Allen.

Honorary pallbearers were Michael Hughes, Matt Clayton, Anthony Allen, and Christopher Allen.
