The Cadiz Police Department is currently investigating the alleged armed robbery of Ideal Market April 12.

And according to Major Duncan Wiggins, the department is wasting no time getting into an investigation of the incident. However, Wiggins would not go into detail on the status of the investigation.

"We’re not putting out a whole lot of information right now," Wiggins said. "It’s because we are trying to get some suspects together."

The department issued a release early Tuesday morning informing of the incident that allegedly occurred around 4:13 a.m.

According to the report, two unidentified suspects approached an employee of the store and forced her inside as she was opening the service station early Tuesday morning. One of the suspects allegedly produced a handgun.

The suspects also allegedly took an undetermined amount of money from the store then fled on foot. There was no indication of direction of travel.

The employee was not hurt in the incident and the case is currently under investigation by Officer William Barnes.
