A fixture that was all but lost is now under new management and hoped to return to the condition it was once in with the help of an expert.

Arrowhead Golf Club, owned by Marshall Roberts, of Cadiz, has been leased to the Brinker family of Evansville. Darrett Brinker, the new head of the course, is a name that some golf fanatics may recognize.

Brinker has played on the Nike Tour and also with world-renowned professionals Tiger Woods and Tom Watson. In addition, he played in the U.S. Open in 1996, where he missed the cut.

Brinker said taking control of the course is more of a “project” than a financial endeavor, as most golf courses don’t make much money.

His family is well-known in the golf business. The Brinker’s own Eagle Valley Golf Course in Evansville, Ind., which they have turned into a profitable business venture. They also own two jewelry operations in Evansville and Owensboro, Ky.
