He was born in Trigg County on December 20, 1931 and was the son of Clifton and Mary Helen Huddleston Choate. He was of the Baptist Faith and a retired employee of Pennyrile Electric with 43 years of service.
Funeral services were held Sunday, June 5, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home with the Reverend Irvin Darnall officiating the service. Burial was in Trigg Memory Acres in Cadiz. Goodwin Funeral Home was in charge of all the arrangements.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Virgie Mae Wallace Choate, one brother Clifford Choate and two brothers in infancy.
He is survived by one son Terry Wayne Choate of Cadiz; one daughter and son-in-law Sherry and Jeff Tyler of Cadiz; one grandchild Ana Elizabeth Tyler of Cadiz; one brother Howard Choate of Cadiz; five sisters: Nell Radford, Mary Elizabeth Choate, Mildred Futrell, Hattie Jones and Marie Mitchell all of Cadiz.
Pallbearers were Brent Futrell, Mike Futrell, Roger Jones, Wendell Jones, Tim King and Larry Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers were Ricky Turner, Tommy Dunn, Bobby Rager, William Tyler, Jerry Tyler and Eston Glover.
