The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet's Department of Highways will reduce traffic to one lane on the Canton Bridge in Trigg County starting Tuesday, June 7, 2005. The bridge carries U.S. 68-KY 80 traffic across Lake Barkley and the Cumberland River at mile point 8.284.

The bridge is nine miles west of Cadiz on U.S. 68 at the eastern entrance to the Land Between the Lakes.

The Canton Bridge will be restricted to one lane from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day to allow a contractor to make routine repairs to the deck curbs and guardrail. Traffic delays should last no more than about five minutes in each direction. The work is expected to take about three weeks, depending on weather.

Approximately 3,000 vehicles per day cross the Canton Bridge.
