The Kentucky State Police (KSP) issued a statement last week requesting the public and anyone who else might have information related to the recent murder of a Princeton man to come forward.

The release is requesting “new information” related to the incident, however did not specify what type of information they were seeking.

“Kentucky State Police Investigators are seeking new information in connection with the murder” of 23-year-old LaWarren Sims, of Princeton, the release said.

KSP Detective Janet Gabbard, the lead investigator on the case, did not comment on the details of the investigation, however said the request for information was general.

“We were just looking for anyone else who had any information to offer,” she said.

Gabbard said that she could not speak on the details of the investigation, however said that it is still ongoing.

Two Cadiz men were arrested and charged with the murder of Sims several days after the incident.

Devron D. Wadlington, 20, and George Kelly Mayes, 24, both of Cadiz, initially fled from authorities, however both turned themselves in several days later.

Residents who were close to the scene of the murder told The Cadiz Record that there was a birthday party going on a Henry’s Place – which was described as a nightclub – for three different people, one of which being Wadlington.
