Thirty-three year-old Robin Frith, of Cadiz, appeared before Judge Bill Cunningham for sentencing last Wednesday after being found guilty last month on charges of criminal abuse to her 4 year-old daughter.
She was sentenced to 6 years behind bars.
Before her appearance, Frith seemed distraught, crying and rocking back and forth in her seat. When she approached, she asked for leniency in her sentence.
“I just ask for one chance and one chance only,” she told Cunningham.
However, Cunningham was not so supportive of her claims that her lawyer, Attorney Lester Guier, did not represent her sufficiently and that she made several mistakes.
“You need to come to grips with what happened,” Cunningham said to Frith. “You need to come to grips with what you have done.”
Guier left the courtroom shortly after the sentence was handed down.
