Funeral services for Addie Allen Carr, 93, of Cadiz, were conducted on Wednesday, September 7, 2005, at 11 a.m., at Goodwin Funeral Home.

Rev. Kevin Roberts officiated at the services. Burial followed in Green Hill Memorial Gardens in Hopkinsville.

Mrs. Carr died on Sunday, September 4, 2005, at 2:55 a.m., at Shady Lawn Nursing Center in Cadiz, of natural causes.

Mrs. Carr was born on December 27, 1911, in Trigg County. She was the daughter of the late John Orbra and Ollie Gertrude Taylor Allen.

Mrs. Carr was a homemaker and enjoyed all arts. Design and embroidery were her strong points. For many years she played piano and organ at Rock Front Baptist Church in Linton, and was a member at Cadiz Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Sharp Carr; and a grandchild, Chris Simmons.

Survivors include three daughters, Bobbie Carr Simmons of Hopkinsville, Elizabeth “Betsy” Taylor of Cadiz, and Peggy Carr Martin of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; a brother, Lloyd Allen of Hopkinsville; four grandchildren, Jean Nosbusch, James Philip Martin, John Taylor, and Ann Taylor.

Serving as pallbearers were Ann Taylor, Philip Martin, Jason Strickland, James Flood, Jean Nosbusch, and Shan Nosbusch.

Gary Thompson, organist, provided the music.
