Funeral services for Laura Hancock Humphries, 77, of Cadiz, will be conducted on Wednesday, September 21, 2005, at 2 p.m., at Goodwin Funeral Home.

Rev. Todd Gray will officiate at the services. Burial will follow at East End Cemetery in Cadiz.

Mrs. Humphries died on Monday, September 19, 2005, at 12:45 a.m., at her residence of natural causes.

Mrs. Humphries was born on December 28, 1927, in Christian County. She was the daughter of the late Luther T. and Ada A. Carpenter Hancock.

Mrs. Humphries was a homemaker; and a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John T. Hancock, and James L. Hancock; and two sisters, J. Ann Hardy, and Marqurite Hancock.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Walter Jack Humphries of Cadiz; two sons and daughter-in-law, Jackie and Bonnie Humphries of Cadiz, and Jerry W. Humphries of Lexington; two grandchildren, Josh and Briana Humphries, and Carla and Tommy Adams; three great-grandchildren, Jay Humphries, Carlee Adams, and Emilee Adams; seven brothers, Robert L. Hancock, Charles W. Hancock, Franklin D. Hancock, Leslie E. Hancock, Ernest L. Hancock, Howard D. Hancock, and Roy E. Hancock, all of Cadiz; and four sisters, Mary L. Edmonds, Judy Edmonds, Linda D. Thomas, and Helen J. Hite, all of Cadiz.

Serving as pallbearers will be Roy McGee, Jr., Tommy Adams, Howard Hammonds, Kevin Stroud, Tommy Skinner, and Tony Fowler.

Music will be provided by Becky Freeman, vocalist, and Barbara Jean Futrell, pianist.
