Not only does such an agreement have to be approved by City Attorney Jamus Redd and Headley Bluff attorney Logan Askew — who must also get individual homeowners and class-action plaintiffs George Zering and David Poe on-board — but that agreement must then be approved by a roll-call vote of the City Council.
The 13-point oral agreement was approved by a vote of three-to-two on Sept. 8, with council members Susan Bryant and Frankie Phillips voting against the tentative agreement. Councilmember Jim Ricks was not at the meeting.
A tie would result in Mayor Lyn Bailey casting the tiebreaker vote.
