Funeral services for Esther Clark Sumner, 91, of Cadiz, were conducted on Thursday, November 3, 2005, at 10 a.m., at Goodwin Funeral Home.

Rev. John Hagan and Rev. Clarence Brock officiated at the services. Burial followed in East End Cemetery.

Mrs. Sumner died on Tuesday, November 1, 2005, at 2 a.m., at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes.

Mrs. Sumner was born on April 17, 1914, in Trigg County. She was the daughter of the late Nealon and Emma Belle Wyatt Clark.

Mrs. Sumner was a homemaker, and a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Lee Sumner, Sr.; two brothers, Barnett B. Clark, and Alonzo Clark; and a sister, Wilmoth Robertson.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jessie Lee, Jr. and Sue Sumner of Hopkinsville; a brother, Charles H. Clark of Toledo, Ohio; two grandchildren, Melissa Cherry and Carol Allcock; and three great-grandchildren, Jessie Leigh Burcham, Austin Allcock, and Quinton Allcock.

Serving as pallbearers were Vernon Outland, Delmar Hargis, Bobby Shemwell, George Humphries, Dalton Sholar, and James Butts.
