Funeral services for Lyman H. “Buddy” Johnson, 82, of Cadiz, were conducted on Friday, November 11, 2005, at 10 a.m., at Goodwin Funeral Home.

Rev. Dr. Tom Martin officiated at the services. Burial followed in Green Hill Memorial Gardens in Hopkinsville.

Mr. Johnson died on Monday, November 7, 2005, at 6:43 p.m., at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn., of natural causes.

Mr. Johnson was born April 7, 1923, in Hopkinsville. He was the son of the late Lowe, Sr., and Hazel C. Mullins Johnson.

Mr. Johnson was retired as the Owner and Operator of Oak Grove Grocery Store in Oak Grove, Ky.; was a member of Cadiz Christian Church; and a member of VFW Post 1913, the Odd Fellows Club, and Kiwanis Club.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wilda I. “Billie” Moore Johnson; and a brother, Lowe “Radio” Johnson, Jr.

Survivors include a companion, Louise Stea of Cadiz; two sons and daughter-in-law, David Johnson of Hopkinsville, and Rudy and June Johnson of Pearland, Texas; three grandchildren, Felicia Doe, April Bushell, and Caron Barham; two step-grandchildren, Kellie Burns Smith, and Chad W. Burns; and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Sanctuary House or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
