So said Sandra Myers, President of the Ladies Auxiliary and Grand Marshall of this year’s Veterans Day Parade.
“That really gives a boost — to your life,” she said on Veterans Day in West Cadiz Park, her smile as gleaming as the gold buttons on her uniform.
The logistics of the parade were complicated and took months of planning — fitting for a holiday honoring those who’ve served in American military uniforms. More than 2,100 students lined the school parking lots and Main Street as the eleventh hour approached, most waving plastic American flags (Don’t ask where they were made) and State Congressman Ed Whitfield arrived via helicopter.
