Mayes, 24 – who was charged with murder along with Devron Wadlington – was represented by his attorney Willie Peale, of Frankfort, at the hearing. The hearing was to discuss scientific tests that will be used in court against Mayes by the Prosecutor G.L. Ovey.
“The hearing dealt with issues regarding whether certain scientific had been received by my office, which they hadn’t,” Ovey said. “It just takes some time with a case of this magnitude.”
Results of ballistics reports along with witness statements, gunshot residue tests and other fingerprint tests are being distributed among the defense and the prosecution for examination.
