Rev. Gary Snyder officiated at the services. Burial followed in East End Cemetery in Cadiz.
Mr. Humphries died on Wednesday, November 23, 2005, at 10 p.m., at his residence of natural causes.
Mr. Humphries was born on March 5, 1923, in Cadiz. He was the son of the late Warren and Minnie Porter Humphries.
Mr. Humphries was a retired farmer; a member of Trigg Co. Fiscal Court as a Magistrate; a 52-year member of Cadiz Masonic Lodge No. 121; and a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Humphries; brother, Jewell Humphries; two sisters, Catherine Skillion and Georgia Rogers; and two half-brothers, Felix Humphries and Tom Humphries.
Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law, Jackie and Bonnie Humphries of Cadiz, and Jerry W. Humphries of Lexington; two grandchildren, Josh Humphries and Carla Adams, both of Cadiz; three great-grandchildren, Carlee Adams, Emilee Adams, and Jay Humphries.
Music was provided by Becky Freeman, soloist, and Barbara Jean Futrell, pianist.
Serving as pallbearers were Jerry Stroud, Kevin Stroud, Tony Fowler, Butch McGee, Tim Hancock, and Roger Birdsong.
Honorary pallbearers were Jimmy Williams, Howard Hammonds, Ed Stallons, Norris Futrell, Stacy Futrell, Walter Futrell, Alton “Hap” Campbell, Clyde Newton, Jr., Tommy Skinner, Randy Armstrong, George Humphries, Sam Baldwin, and Stan Humphries.
