Funeral services for Roy L. Harper, 87, of Cadiz, were conducted on Saturday, December 10, 2005, at 11 a.m., at Goodwin Funeral Home.

Revs. Mike Wimberly, and John Ahart officiated at the services. Burial followed in Hurricane Cemetery in Trigg County.

Mr. Harper died on Wednesday, December 7, 2005, at 8:30 a.m., at his residence of natural causes.

Mr. Harper was born on June 19, 1918, in Lyon County. He was the son of the late George Washington and Ethel Marshall Cummins Harper.

Mr. Harper was a retired farmer and timberman; and was a member of Hurricane Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Earl Harper, and Noble Glenn Harper; and a sister, Frances Harper.

Survivors include his wife, Thelma Wynn Harper of Cadiz; two sons, Lynndale Harper of Laverne, Tenn., and Kenneth Harper of Cadiz; two daughters, Elsie Tinsley, and Teresa Harper, both of Cadiz; a foster son, Karel Wynn of Cadiz; brother, Woodson Harper of Princeton; sister, Geneva Wyatt of West Frankfort, Ill.; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.
