Lady Midcats take second at TCMS Christmas Tournament

A strong fourth quarter by Dawson Springs was too much for the Trigg County Lady Midcats to overcome in a 36-26 loss to the Lady Panthers in the championship game of the Trigg County Middle School Christmas Tournament at Midcat Gym.

Trigg County led 18-14 at halftime, but Dawson Springs took a 26-24 lead into the fourth quarter.

Trigg was outscored 10-2 in the final quarter and saw two starters foul out.

Not helping matters was a 4-of-16 performance at the free throw line.

Audrey Futrell led the Lady Midcat scoring with eight points, while Brooke Allen and Jasmine Davis each scored seven points.

G’Teria Acree battled foul trouble and scored four points.

Brooke Randolph led Dawson Springs with 14 points.

Trigg County advanced to the championship game with a 40-23 thumping of Todd County Middle in the first round earlier in the day.

The Lady Midcats used a 10-1 second quarter run to take control of the game and outscored the Lady Rebels 14-6 in the fourth quarter.

G’Teria Acree led Trigg with 12 points, while Brooke Kearney added ten points.

Audrey Futrell chipped in with eight points, Brooke Allen scored four points, and Annie Woods and Olivia Higgins each scored two points.

Ashley Brooks led Todd County with 12 points.

Trigg County got a balanced scoring attack to beat University Heights 35-16 on Dec. xx in Hopkinsville.

Brooke Kearney led eight different Lady Midcat scorers with nine points, while G’Teria Acree added eight points.

Audrey Futrell, Annie Woods, and Alysia Brown each scored four points, and Brooke Allen, Kara Carneyhan, and Amanda Want each scored two points.

Hadley Burns led UHA with seven points.
