The Red Cross is presently experiencing critical blood shortages. The Red Cross mission is to prepare for the unexpected. Blood has to be donated, tested, processed and available to the hospital before the patient needs it. That is why it’s so important that Trigg County residents give at this blood drive.
Volunteer blood donors will be required to provide identification prior to donating blood. The preferred identifier for donors is a current drivers license or a Red Cross blood donor card issued to the donor. Without identification, a prospective donor will not be permitted to donate.
Normally it takes about an hour to give blood, but your donation can add years to the life of someone in need. The process includes registration and completion of a medical questionnaire, confidential mini-physical with a Red Cross health historian, blood donation (no longer than 10 minutes), and canteen, where refreshments are available to replenish lost fluid.
