David T. Hicks, 78, of Cadiz, died on Tuesday, December 20, 2005, at 3:45 p.m., at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn., of natural causes.

There will be no services. King’s Funeral Home is in charge of all the arrangements.

Mr. Hicks was born on November 17, 1927, in Graves County. He was the son of the late Neil and Euna Mae Golden Hicks.

Mr. Hicks retired as an Instrument Supervisor from Union Carbide after 30 years of service. He was a U.S. Navy veteran; was a member of the Church of Christ; and a member of the Trigg-Lyon Fire Department.

Survivors include his wife to 58 years, Betty Hicks of Cadiz; three sons, Mark Hicks of Baton Rouge, La., David Neil Hicks of Have Lock, N.C., and Jimmy Hicks of Luling, La.; two daughters, Ellen Spivey of Lexington, and Robin Friloux of Destrehan, La.; a brother, Warren Hicks of Paducah; and 12 grandchildren.
