Gray-Hunt Vows Exchanged

Amanda Marie Gray of Hopkinsville, and Stuart Layman Hunt of Paducah were married at 6 p.m., on Saturday, September 10, 2005, at St. John United Methodist Church.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brent Gray of Hopkinsville. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wade Hall of Elkton, and Marie Gray of Cadiz, and the late Charles E. Gray.

The bridegroom is the son of Linda Hunt of Paducah, and the late Larry H. Hunt. He is the grandson of Margaret Layman of New Orleans, La., and the late Robert E. Layman, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Hunt.

The Rev. Dr. J. Kevin McCallon and the Rev. William Amberg, Uncle of the bride, officiated. Nuptial music was provided by pianist Elizabeth Brown, organist Phyllis Groves, violinist Donis Schweizer, trumpeter Johnny Brown, all of Hopkinsville, guitarist and vocalist Matt McDougal of Bowling Green, and vocalists Sarah Wade of Louisville, and Kristin Jones of Princeton. Selections included “Canon in D,” “Trumpet Voluntary,” and “Ode to Joy.”

Cousins of the bride, Joni Wharton and Katie Garland, both of Cadiz, distributed programs. Scripture readers were Maryem Raissian of Bowling Green, and Brent Gray of Hopkinsville.

Julia Guest and Beth Kickert, both of Bowling Green, kept the guest registers.

The bride, given in marriage by her parents, was escorted by her father.

Assistants to the bride were Elizabeth Williams and Ashlea Hunter, both of Bowling Green.

The bride chose Kathleen Edwards of Bowling Green to be her Maid of Honor.

Bridesmaids were the bridegroom’s sister, Allison Anderson of McKinney, Texas, Rachel Hatteberg of Lexington, Emily Sandifer, Lauren Doty, both of Louisville, Shannon Priddy and Mary Ellen Moody, both of Bowling Green, and Meredith Orten of Clemson, S.C.

The bridegroom chose his brother, Stephen Hunt of Murray, to be his Best Man.

Groomsmen were Jay Anderson of McKinney, Texas, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, Andy Couch of Evansville, Ind., Matt Jackson and Joey Wilcox, both of Bowling Green, Dan Schreiner of Washington, D.C., Jeremie Wade of Louisville, and the bride’s brother, Chuck Gray of Louisville.

The bride’s parents served as hosts of a reception on the lawn of St. John United Methodist church.

Assisting at the reception were Beverly Parham of Murphy, N.C., Michele Farmer and Danielle Pool, both of Elkton, Megan Robertson of Hopkinsville, and Lindsi Gray of Murray, cousins of the bride.

Following a trip to St. Maarten, the couple is residing in Paducah. The bride is employed by G & O Pharmacy. The bridegroom is employed as an associate of music ministry at First Baptist Church in Paducah.
