Funeral services for Mary Elizabeth Turnley Cruite, 65, of Hopkinsville, were conducted on Thursday, December 29, 2005, at 1 p.m., at Gamble Funeral Home in Hopkinsville.

Rev. James Dunbar officiated at the services. Burial followed in Church Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Cruite died on Thursday, December 22, 2005, at 4:07 p.m., at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville of natural causes.

Mrs. Cruite was born on January 5, 1940, in Christian County. She was the daughter of the late George and Cornelia Wilson Turnley.

Mrs. Cruite was a homemaker, and a member of Church Hill Baptist Church where she was on the Kitchen Committee, past vice president of both Senior and Mass Choirs.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her spouse, Prentice Cruite, Jr.

Survivors include two sons, Rev. George Edward Cruite, and Lonnie R. Cruite, both of Hopkinsville; three daughters, Teresa Bussell, Linda D. Cruite, and Melissa D. Cruite, all of Hopkinsville; five brothers, Hugh Bennie Turnley of Indianapolis, Ind., and George W. Turnley, Larry Turnley, Charles Turnley, and Robert Michael Turnley, all of Hopkinsville; three sisters, Mattie Slappy and Macie Henry, both of Hopkinsville, and Connie McGee of Cadiz; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
