Funeral services for Rev. Samuel Scott, 71, of Princeton, were conducted on Monday, January 16, 2006, at 11 a.m., at Shepherd Street Baptist Church in Princeton. Burial followed in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Rev. Scott died on Tuesday, January 10, 2006, at 1:58 p.m., at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville following a short illness.

Rev. Scott was born on March 2, 1934, in Caldwell County. He was the son of the late Titus and Francis Elizabeth McGowan Scott.

Rev. Scott was the Associate Pastor of Shepherd Street Baptist Church, and was retired from Special Metals in Princeton following 27 years of employment.

In addition to his parents, a brother, Fred Scott, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Ann Thompson Scott; two daughters, Brenda Arnold of Paducah, and Phyllis Scott of Hopkinsville; granddaughter, Sierra Scott of Paducah; sister, Dorothy Scott of Princeton; and several nieces and nephews.

Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton was in charge of all the arrangements.
