Funeral services for Alvin Hale Crump, 83, of Cadiz, were conducted on Thursday, February 2, 2006, at 11 a.m., at Goodwin Funeral Home.

Dr. Mike Jones and Donald Jones officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Trigg County.

Mr. Crump died on Tuesday, January 31, 2006, at 8:56 a.m., at Trigg County Hospital of natural causes.

Mr. Crump was born on May 5, 1922, in Lyon County. He was the son of the late James Monroe and Beatrice McCloud Crump.

Mr. Crump was retired from Howard K. Bell Consulting Engineers with 30 years of service; was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during WW II; was a member of the Cadiz Masonic Lodge #121, 32nd degree Mason; and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Leenora Higgins Crump; brother, Rhybon Crump; and a grandchild, Lori Lee Jones.

Survivors include a stepson, Donald Jones of Almo; two stepdaughters, Pauline J. Crump, and Retta J. Balentine, both of Cadiz; brother, Earl Crump of Marshall County; two sisters, Masil McWharter of Texarkana, Ark., and Charlene Morgan of Calloway County; three step-grandchildren, Paula J. Flood, and Raybon Crump, Jr., both of Cadiz, and Stephen Donald Jones of Almo; and three step-great-grandchildren, Brittney Nicole Crump, Lucas Donald Jones, and Miranda Lee Jones.

Serving as pallbearers were Donald Jones, Stephen Jones, Raybon Crump, Jr., James C. Flood, Paula C. Flood, Earl Crump, Lucas Donald Jones, and N.C. Hooks.

Mark Harris, vocalist, and Jan Oakley, pianist provided music.
