Funeral services for Robert Lee Dawson, 76, of Herndon, will be conducted on Thursday, February 16, 2006, at 2 p.m., at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 15, after 4 p.m., at Goodwin’s.

Rev. Irvin Darnall will officiate at the services. Burial will follow at the Dawson Family Cemetery in Herndon.

Mr. Dawson died on Monday, February 13, 2006, at 6 a.m., at his residence of natural causes.

Mr. Dawson was born on March 1, 1929, in Stewart County, Tenn. He was the son of the late Henry Lewis, Sr., and Liza Bethel Chadwick Dawson.

Mr. Dawson was a farmer, and was of the Baptist Faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Homer Ray Dawson, Tom Nat Dawson, Leroy Dawson, Henry Dawson, Jr., and Johnny Dawson; and a sister, Ruby Stewart.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Fannie Mae Cunningham Dawson of Herndon; a son, Robert Lewis Dawson of Clarksville, Tenn.; a daughter, Carolyn Dawson of Cadiz; a sister, Geneva Calhoun of Cadiz; two grandchildren, Leslie Dawson and Kimberly Dawson; and three great-grandchildren, Autumn Stone, Aaron Dawson, and Summer Stone.
