Funeral services for Rex Akemon, 56, of Cadiz, will be Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at 10 a.m., at Goodwin Funeral Home.

Minister Garry W. Thomas will officiate at the services. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Trigg County.

Mr. Akemon died on Sunday, February 26, 2006, at 12:38 a.m., at his residence of natural causes.

Mr. Akemon was born on May 31, 1949, in Hopkinsville. He was the son of the late Kenneth and Thelda Erlene Gray Akemon.

Mr. Akemon was a painter for Venture Industries in Hopkinsville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Akemon, Jr.; Grandfather, Moscow Guier; and Grandmother Esther Gray.

Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Ashley and Jason Boyd, Kelly Akemon, and LeAnne and Gregory Lynch, all of Cadiz, and Lisa and Scott Stuart of Christian County; aunt, Lucille Guier of Oak Grove; uncle, Clarence Gray of Moline, Ill.; three grandsons, Mason Boyd, Gage Lynch, and Dylan Stuart; and a granddaughter, Samantha Miller.

Sheila Alder, pianist, will provide the music.

Serving as pallbearers will be Morris Lynn, Kevin Fuller, Burton Aldridge, Allen Cunningham, Jerry “Bud” Cannon, and Paul Draughn.

Honorary pallbearers will be The 1967 Football Team.
