Garry Stanton officiated at the services. Burial followed in Joiner’s Chapel Cemetery in Trigg County.
Mr. Hunter died on Friday, March 3, 2006, at 5:30 p.m., at his residence of natural causes.
Mr. Hunter was born on September 4, 1930, in Trigg County. He was the son of the late Jake, Sr., and Frances Maude Howell Hunter.
Mr. Hunter was retired from the Civil Service at Fort Campbell with 30 years of service; was a member of the Cadiz Church of Christ; and was a U.S. Navy veteran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Troy Hunter, Billy Hunter, and Ray Hunter; and a sister, Dorothy Mae Hunter.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Annette Wallace Hunter; son and daughter-in-law, Reggie and Vonda Hunter of Bumpus Mills, Tenn.; daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Carlo Roso of Farmington; three brothers, Jake Hunter, Jr., of Cadiz, Larry Hunter of Lake St. Louis, Mo., and H.C. Hunter of Rock Hill, S.C.; four grandchildren, Shelia Hunter, Jacob Hunter, Joseph Roso, and John Roso.
Serving as pallbearers were Lindsey Champion, Bill Williams, Pete Thomas, William W. Futrell, Doug Wadlington, and Jacob Hunter.
