King’s Funeral Home was in charge of all the arrangements.
Revs. Lester Watson and O.D. Boyd officiated at the services. Burial followed in East End Cemetery in Cadiz with Military Rites.
Bro. Key died on Tuesday, February 28, 2006, at 5 a.m., at his residence from an extended illness.
Bro. Key was born on April 5, 1926, in Calloway County. He was the son of the late Albert and Queenie Baker Key.
Bro. Key was the co-owner of Trigg Supply Company; was a retired Baptist Minister, having served as pastor of Canton Baptist, Hurricane Baptist, and Rock Front Baptist Church in Trigg County as well as other churches.; was a Charter member of the East Cadiz Baptist Church; and was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Evelyn King Key; a daughter, Donna Marie Key; a son, Loyd Edward Key; a grandson, Michael Key; and a brother, James Max Key.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, David Wayne and Barbara Key of Mayfield, Jimmie Dan and Karen Key of Gracey, and Rickie Lynn Key of Cadiz; a brother, Bobby Lynn Key of Central City; and five grandchildren, Shannon M. Kennedy of Cadiz, Rebecca Ann Key and John David Key of Mayfield, James Daniel Key and Bonita Ann Key of Gracey; two great-grandchildren, Mark Dillon Kennedy and John Luke Kennedy of Cadiz.
Suellen Hendricks, pianist, and the East Cadiz Baptist Church provided the music.
Serving as pallbearers were John David Key, James Daniel Key, Adam Schneider, Paul Edward Key, Robert Allen Key, Phillip Wayne Key, and John Kennedy.
